Cllr Chris Stanbra, Deputy Leader of the Liberal Democrat Opposition at County Hall has today attacked the Conservative administration in Northamptonshire for wasting £30,000 on an unnecessary Cabinet post over the last 18 months.
Cllr Stanbra said “The decision by the Conservative Leader at Northamptonshire County Council not to replace Cllr Mackintosh after his resignation shows what the Liberal Democrats were saying all along – the job was a non-job.”
“I am glad that the Conservatives have finally listened to the Liberal Democrats and have reduced the size of the Cabinet, but they should never have created the extra post in the first place. The Conservatives have wasted £30,000 for an extra allowance over the last 18 months, for no real reason.”
