The resignation of the Labour County Councillor after only 12 months came as a shock to residents across the St George Division.Just 12 months ago in the run up to the General Election Labour campaigned claiming that they cared about the area and could do a better job of representing residents than the popular and well respected Sarah Uldall from the Lib Dem Focus Team.
With the Tory run County Council in financial and political turmoil the Labour councillor has stood down. Sarah Uldall is unable to stand this time and Focus Team member Martin Sawyer has been selected as the Liberal Democrat Candidate. He has already been working with Sarah and out and about meeting people and taking up local issues.
The result last year shows that once again the election is likely to be between The St George Liberal Democrats and Labour
